Is paying for Gemini the same as buying API credit?
First identify whether you need a consumer Google AI subscription or developer-service usage billing. Check the product name and billing page; one subscription payment is not funding for every Google service. For Cloud Billing costs, read the Google Cloud guide.
Pay for Gemini on your own account
Choose the plan and total in your own Google account, then enter the card for payment. Check offer or discount eligibility separately before buying.
The merchant payment and the card purchase cost are different
The card purchase total includes the dollar balance, issuance fee, conversion rate and any fees disclosed in the quote. Calculate the required balance from the merchant’s final checkout total, not just the advertised plan price.
Before buying the Gemini plan
- Sign in to the plan page with your personal Google account
- Check the final price, tax and renewal period
- Control the country and Billing Address of the payment profile
- Select the card balance according to the Checkout amount
Google AI Pro payment and renewal
The payment method will be stored in Google Payments and the subscription will be renewed according to the selected period. Before the renewal date, check the amount and balance of the card.

Send the error message and image of the insensitive Checkout section to support to check the Billing Address, balance and card registration process.
